It's safe to say the Utah Jazz need upgrades at every position with an emphasis on PG. Unfortunately, this is a weak draft at the PG position. The Jazz don't pick players based on need. Kevin O'Conner believes in taking the best player available. He says it every draft. He'll stick with that philosophy this summer.

It's worth mentioning that almost everyone believes the PG for Lehigh, CJ McCollum will be taken in the 12-16 range. We hear his name all the time in JazzNation. He's not on any of these mock drafts but he's a real possibility. I really like the Shane Larkin pick and Myck Kabongo should also be available at 21 and even possibly at 44.

I'll continue to update this table as the National media adjusts their mock boards.

UTA@MIN W 97-93

Reaction to win:
1) Has anyone else noticed that Millsap has become a complainer. He used to be that nose to the grindstone kind of guy but now he whines after every bad call and I'm not impressed. (Gives not impressed face)
2) I don't take any of these games seriously. Right before the trade deadline, right before the Allstar break...Horrible players play great and great players play horribly. Who knows what's real?
3) I love it when teams blatantly shop players. Remember last year when we played Raja Bell like 30+ minutes/night going into the trade deadline and then after he rode the bench the rest of the year? Watch for that.
4) With all that said, it was a solid win on the road on the back end of a back to back. (Tips hat, jumps on horse, rides off into sunset, horse rears, shoots revolver into sky, bird falls from sky, looks over shoulder sheepishly)

OKC@UTA W 94-109

Reaction to win:
1) Watching the Jazz play OKC is a must! Very exciting game. Lots of bandwagon fans at the game which ratchets up the energy in the building.
2) This was a physical game and the Jazz were the instigators. They got up in their face and OKC wilted. That may be a key to beating them in the future. Sweet revenge for last years shellacking.
3) Our big men dominated. Millsap had 18 pts 10 reb 6 assists and 2 steals in 24 minutes. Jefferson had 23 pts and 7 reb.
4) Kevin Martin was horrible. They need him to knock down outside shots. Without him they were sunk.
5) Perry Jones looked good. Great pick by OKC.
6) Didn't see Eric Maynor play. I doubt he plays in OKC next year. Would anyone want him back in UT?
7) The young players were fantastic but Nick Collison had Kanters number. He couldn't get it going.
8) Durant got the first flagrant foul of his career. It was deserved. His post game comments were interesting. He's turning into a diva.

UTA@SAC L 109-120

Reaction to the loss:
1) The Jazz are now 103-101 in the Jefferson/Millsap era...Time for new beginnings.
2) I did not understand the rotations tonight. The teams time distribution was way off. It makes it hard for a player when things like that happen.
3) I don't like Corbin making excused for losing like: "We played last night...The guys were beat up...We couldn't get calls"... His job is to protect the players but it still didn't sit well with me.
4) The Sacramento fans are amazing! I really hope they keep their team but the odds are against them.

CHI@UTA L 93-89

Reaction to the loss:

1) I was sad to see so many fans boo the Boozer. The dude may have milked his injuries but he still took us to a Western Championship playoff. Stay classy SLC.
2) I was on the floor before the game started and man oh man is Burks taller than I remembered. He definitely looks like a SG.
3) Luol Deng bumped into me as he rushed to the locker room right before tip off. I timed how long he was gone. I'm pretty confident he had to use the bathroom. How's that for rapid reaction?
4) Jefferson was unstopable for a good chunk of this game. Seriously, he couldn't miss. It was incredible. And the Noah came into the game and shut him down.
5) With close to 8 minutes left in the game both Boozer and Noah had 4 fouls each. I would have gone with the big lineup and forced the ball into the paint. Get those guys to foul out. Instead Corbin went with Tinsley, Burks, and Foye. You could tell he had no idea what he was doing for a minute. Growing pains.
6) Tons of Chicago fans at the game. Whats up with that? I saw DRose shooting before the game started. If he's traveling with the team he must be close to coming back.
Awesome game environment with all the Bulls fans. Too bad we lost. We need Hayward back. You can't lose to a team playing in our elevation on the back end of a back to back without their star player.

MIL@UTA W 86-100

Rapid Reaction:
1) It was Swat Lake City tonight. 12 blocks is something to be proud of. It's nice to see the team care about defense. Not normally a strong point for us.
2) I've seen a lot of fans crushing over Brandon Jennings. I really don't get it. He gets a lot of points but, it's because he takes a ton of shots. He doesn't look like a PG. Is he really who you want dishing to your bigs for the next 5 years? It's more likely he'd steal shots from our bigs.
3) Karl Malone's comment that he would coach our bigs for free is very frustrating. He gave so much for so long. Comments like that to the media don't help the Jazz. Say that to Greg Miller in a private conversation.
4) Burks is still going through growing pains. Doesn't look like a PG...yet. Reminds me of Brandon Jennings actually. A wannabe PG.
5) Did you see the Spurs/Jazz trade rumors? I'd like to see some names attached to that besides Jefferson. What are they giving up that we would want?

SAC@UTA W 91-98

Rapid Reaction:

1) To start off, Burks had a great game. He's played PG for most of his life and it really showed tonight. We've seen his name float around a lot in trade rumors. The Watson injury was timely in that now you have a chance to really see what he's made of. I loved the 4th quarter and overtime minutes he got. Those are very meaningful for young players. Not like the trash minutes against 2nd and 3rd tier guys that he's used to.

2) Hayward is still out and hasn't taken a shot since the injury. It's a shame because prior to the injury he was rollin like a boss! There's going to be a curve when he comes back. No way, he picks up where he left off. Be prepared for that.

3) The next time I see KOC I'm going to kiss that man for signing Foye.

4) DeMarre Carroll will make $885,120 this year. I think it's safe to say he's getting a raise next year.

5) 5 on 5 with our starters vs. our bench who would win? Leave your comment below. If you hesitate even for a second in answering that question then there's a problem here.

6) Lastly, I have to say I'm a huge Ute fan but, I appreciate the attention Jimmer brought to the State of Utah.  That boy needs to get out of Sactown. Wrong environment for him. He looked unhappy tonight. This is a tough year for those guys.

UTA@POR L 99-105

Rapid Reaction:

1) Hickson shoots 67% from the FT line and chooses this game to hit two in a row with the game on the line? (Throws self over bridge)

2) You can’t strip away Kanters minutes to virtually nothing and then expect him to change the momentum of a game on the road. One of my favorite tweets of the night came from Bill Oram: “In desperate need of of offense, Corbin inserts Kanter, a player he has made very clear he doesn't believe provides any offense.

3) I was wondering if Marvin Williams was going to mentally check out on this team based on the time he’s getting and how many offensive sets we run for him. This game answered that. He’s still there if we want him.

4) The Randy Foye acquisition this offseason made me giddy like a little school girl. I’m still giddy. That boy can play.

5) The sample size is still too small on Burks playing PG but, it’s not looking good.

6) Have I mentioned my man crush for DeMarre Carroll? It's getting bigger!
